Disruptive technology is an innovation which completely changes the process of a specific field such as business, education, communication and so on. As far as education is concerned, the new innovations in the technology has changed aspects of education drastically.
Most of the time, we perceive teaching and learning process has to be a physical process where both parties should see each other in a proper classroom setting. However, owing to new technological platform such as Zoom, Skype and so on, teachers and students can meet in cyber space. Numerous innovative advancement in the education field has changed how education is delivered, accessed or experienced.
In my point of view innovations in technology has changed the traditional classroom. However there are both pros and cons in using technology in education. Integration of technology into education must be handled carefully. The outbreak of Covid- 19 virus in 2020, made a huge impediment in continuing education during the lockdown period. However owing to online education, many countries used numerous technological platforms to continue education.Many teachers all around the world, despite proper facilities to deliver online lessons, were able to conduct lesson online.
In my opinion these technological advancement used in the field of education, has made teaching and learning process more efficient and easy. However excessive reliance on technology for learning can hinder true abilities of a student. The best example in these days is the use of ChatGPT. It has become a very controversial topic which has grabbed the attention of whole world. In the same way, in the field of education, it is reported that ChatGPT is used by students to do their assignments or homework.
Thus in my point of view, as teachers or students it is our responsibility to use technology in a meaningful manner.
